Setup access from one network to another

We have a current network all hard wired with its own internet connection and a second wireless network with a separate internet connection. I have one SSID for Guests on the wireless side and I want to create a second SSID so if you need to access the wired side of the network with a laptop it is possible. How would I keep the setup as is and network the two to be able to access the wired side via the wireless?

Simplest method would be to simply introduce a WAP to the wired network. You'll be able to have a SSID that applies to that network only. And you're not changing other things around in the process. You're really not creating a new network, per se... you're really providing a wireless means to the existing wireless network.

What I'd ideally do would be to have a single firewall (or UTM), and have 2 VLANs (1 for the main network, 1 for the guest). That way, if your APs are able to work with VLANs, you could use the same APs for both networks. Also, you can configure it such that the two VLANs route through the appropriate internet connection.

ASKER

There is an issue with installing a wireless access point only to the wired network, there are currently 9 access points deployed and we want to utilize those for both guest and the wired network. I am assuming a VLAN is the only way?

Currently there are Aruba installed and I will replace them with an Aruba 225 hopefully in the near future.
Even your existing ones are most likely capable then. Just make sure to have that managed switch that connects to both networks. The rest should be workable with some configuration, but you can always reach out if assistance is needed.
