Okidata ML420 won't complete a print job

We have an Okidata ML420 connected to the network via an HP 170 Jet Direct.  It will work for months and then only print part of the print job.   I have to uninstall it and reinstall it.
The network is Win 2008 R2.  The printer is installed on a Hyper-V VM.  I wasn't using a Print server, previously, but today I set one up.   I'm not physically at the office so I don't know if this will help.

This is a big problem because we do all of our invoicing from this printer.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.  I'll be at the office Monday.

What happens when it doesn't work? Any error messages?

nope.  Prints a partial page (invoice).  We print multiple invoices at at time.  10 or more.
Temporarily hook the printer up directly to a computer and print a 10 or more page document. Does it print All.?
Unfortunately I can't because the new computers no longer have a parallel port and I don't have an adapter.
Does the Jetdirect have a static IP address, and is it outside the DHCP range?

You could try resetting the JetDirect to factory settings and configuring it again. You also may want to take a look at how spooling is set up.

John's suggestion of directly connecting the printer isn't a bad one. However, I have dealt with a few parallel printers that won't work with the adapters (just a forewarning, not a discouragement).
Thanks I'll be there today and post later
John's was the only solution that worked.  Added a usb to parallel cable.

Thanks
Thanks for the update and I was happy to help.
I think I get your input on most of my questions.   Thanks
