Forum functionality in Joomla!

I am looking for an extension to Joomla!
The goal is that registered users should simply be able to post a one (or two) lines of text.
So the forum should simply show the list of such texts, ordered chronologically (newest first).
This will serve for our Bridge's Club : members should be able to post a message like "I am looking for a partner next monday"
Then another member seeing this, answer for exaemple "Okay for me"

I thought that Kunena was the extension to use for that so I installed it, but if it is the good tool, I don't know how to simplify the publication process etc...

I've always custom built things for this. If you are looking for a custom solution, I could build one for you. It's a pretty simple request and something we could put together for you within a matter of hours.

Otherwise, I would recommend just keep exploring other options for forum components.

Which extension do you suggest ?
I've used Kunena in the past and it's worked well. There are several others I have used that are no longer supported.

One option you could do seeing it's a community website, is look into something like Community Builder.

The last "community forum" I've built using someone's else's stuff was with Community Builder. Everything since then has been custom built as these things are becoming more and more sophisticated and there just isn't anything out there that is a one-stop-shop.

Maybe Kunena is OK for me
But I am a little bit lost with "how to" customise the interface to be very simple
Can you detail out exactly what you want it to do? For me the forum is pretty intuitive, as this is the base forum platform for many forums, so I know how to navigate through it, but I might be missing something when you say you want it to be very "simple".

Maybe if you can explain to us what "simple" looks like, that would be a good start.

Here it is
When a registered user go to the Forum page of the site, he should see the list of messages text (nothing more than a line of two, no other field) sorted chronologically (the last one first) with the name of the writers (other registered users and himself).
And then he should be able to post a message as well.
Messages older than a give delay (probably 2 weeks) should disappear and the admin should be able to delete these old messages.
User should be able to delete his own messages as well.
For info the site is the one of my bridge's club.
The idea of the forum is for players to post message when they look for a partner for a specific day tournament.
Maybe that when a player post a message, he can post it as an "answer" to another message and then the writer of that message could receive an email ... that would be wonderful
Thanks

I did something similar using a classified extension

What I use is dj-classifieds
https://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/ads-a-affiliates/classified-ads/dj-classifieds/

with Community Builder for the member (dj-classifieds is also compatible with other community extension)

I set the message free for all members and visible only to logged member.

There are several settings  for message, notification ect.
