Windows XP running on a Server 2016 functional level domain.
I have done a bit of searching online about Windows XP running on a Server 2016 functional level domain.
Some people say there will be issues with GPOs connectivity while others say it will run fine.
Anyone on here got any XP machines running on a Server 2016 domain without any issues?

Yes but not supported and expect typical hardening policies (such as outlined by CIS) to break it
Per the comments supra, the basic functionality will work but having an XP system on the network may pull the server down to SMB version 1.0. This is a major security problem according to Microsoft, as SMB is the vector which allowed WannaCry to propagate across networks.
Also expect to see some individual issues such as the XP system being unable to print to printers hosted on server systems, as opposed to free-standing network printers or printers attached to print servers.

You will not be able to share folders on Server 2016 without seriously impairing security on Server 2016 (NTLM authentication). Given ransomware, do not remove 2016 security.
