help identifying my host in my HP MSA 2040
I have four HP MSA 2040 storage arrays. I have my MSA's connected to my hosts and I have logged into the MSA and I can see the host connected to the storage. My question is how do I tell what host is what since all I get is a host ID, which is a really long string of letters and numbers?
For example, in my first MSA, I see it's connected to host 5004566kk3dfk3kwof56 but I have no idea if that host ID is host 3 or 4.
Yes, i could pull cables and see what hosts drops offline, but I've already allocated space and these MSAs are in production now.
So, I was thinking I could log into the host and look at the driver for the HBA card and see a corresponding HOST ID that matched what shows in the MSA, but no joy.
I suspect however, that there is some way to tell the host ID so I can name them in the MSA so I know what MSA is connected to what host.
Thanks
Cliff
