SBS2003 (I KNOW) problem - Exchange and dependencies won't start

Today I started getting a problem with an SBS2003 server.
I know - don't tell me to upgrade and I shouldn't be running 2003 - anyway I can't migrate until I cvn fix this problem in order to do it!

The issue was no email arriving and Outlook couldn't connect.
the event log shows EVENTID 2114 from MSExchangeDSAccess and Services shows the Information Store is not loaded.
I cannot load the information store because I get an error about dependency services not starting.
In fact NetLogon won't start, Workstation service won't start and a number of others.

I tried running the IECW and it failed on all four sections, saying it had encountered an error in each case.

What can have suddenly gone wrong? This server has been running happily for years!
I have no idea where to start with this.
BTW I cannot access Remote Desktop either so I have to go to the server to do anything and it seems the server is not recognised as a member of the domain, as RDP says the remote computer cannot be accessed, maybe it is not part of this network...

HELP! I am email-less...

Thanks for any pointers - I know there's not much diagnostic info here but getting any logs off when I can't see the server from another computer is problematic.

Further info: I can almost connect via RDP using the IP address - at least the RDP window opens, though the screen remains grey and no login prompt comes up.
Is there an AD issue here?
Possible cause: being unable to logon via RDP and having no local console access (I have since borrowed a monitor so I can connect to the console if I go down to the room physically) I had to shut off the server ungracefully, against my better judgement. Maybe something got corrupted?
Got a bit further - after some waiting, the RDP login box did come up. Entered credentials and couldn't be logged on:
The system cannot log you on due to the following error: The Workstation driver is not installed.
Presumably  because the workstation service is not running on the server (and won't start).
Removed MSNetwork Client from the NIC and reinstalled it. Can now RDP and start the info store.
Problem now: Exchange doesn't seem to be picking up external email despite re-running (successfully) the ICW...

How many NICs do you have on the server?
It is beyond normal troubleshoot and you need to ask a technician to go to your location to fix the problem.

In short, you need to have console access to the server, remove the antivirus software, restart the server and re-install antivirus software.
