boot disc to test SSD drive
What is a recommended software package I can use to test if an SSD drive is failing? Also, would prefer it to have a bootable cd or USB image.
I have used SpinRite and HDD regenerator in the past.

What are you looking to test, the drive IS SMART enabled and you can query those stats as Dr. Khan pointed out, if however, you suspect that the drive is exhibiting issues of concern to you, clone/replace the drive and avoid a situation as was pointed out that you run your SSD test which cones back with a "good drive" that shortly thereafter fails.
The newer drive from good vendors have improved reliability/performance.

nobus: it is a Samsung SSD PM 830 7mm 128GB
Do you know the manufacturer tool to test this drive? I have not gotten it to work with Samsung Magician.

Dr. Klahn: the test with Crystal disk info shows the drive is good with 95%; however, sometimes the computer just freezes and I am working with a fresh install of Windows 7 Sp1 (fully updated).
Freezes doing what? Check whether you have system monitoring resources,omonitoring temperatuures,etc. if you suspect the SSD as being the cause, get and try a new SSD cloned and see if the issue persists.
