Google Analytics Results

I am working with a group that has installed Google Analytics in their WordPress site. They want to know how to look at reports & see about how many site visits, etc.

I thought this was the whole purpose of Google Analytics.

I did Google searches on this & they produce a lot of "coded" language I don't understand, like "select the property you want to view". I have no clue what "property" means in this context. We want to view reports available on that site.

Is there somewhere there are instructions on how to do this in plain & simple language?

Thanks

A "Property" in Google Analytics is basically the account for which you've installed the analytics.js. Each Property/Account has a unique "UA-" number associated with it.

Here is Google's more complicated definition for reference:

They will need a gmail account. Then set up their website at google analytics. Then that UA- number can be added to any plugin you've installed on the wordpress site. It you don't use a plugin and install the embed code, please do it in a customs functions plugin so it won't be married to a theme that can be switched off.

I have asked the people in charge for the google account login and the UA- number. Also the wp-admin login so I can see how they did it (with plugin or ??)

Richard
We are in a disconnect here, apparently I did not communicate correctly.

I want to know HOW DO WE ACCESS THE REPORTS from the data Google Analytics collects?

Isn't this the whole point?

How do I view the reports, the site is already set up with Google Analytics in it.

Thanks
