SCCM 2012 Update/Upgrade

Hello Experts,

I  Have been tasked to update  Ms system centre Configuration manager 2012 R2. Currently we are on versions
System Centre Configuration Manager  Version ( 5.0.7958.1000).
Can any one guide me to update this and prons and cons of this. I have checked following link

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/changes/whats-new-in-version-1702

Which indicate Version 1702. my question is Can I upgrade directly to this version or do I need to install the interim version first.

Please advice best solution and update path.

Regards
Asif

You should have kept reading that thread

Periodically, an update version is also released as a new baseline version (like update 1702). This kind of update can be used to install a new hierarchy, without the need to start with an older baseline version (like 1511) and upgrade your way to the most current version.

ASKER

Hello David,

thanks for response. on Ms article it is mention to use Update and service tool to download and install latest update. But in my Case  the SCCM configured like stand alone and I am unable to chose this option or Serviceingtool  option.
I looked  and searched on Google and Ms download if I can download Patch but I cannot.  do you know the exact Ms link where I can download 1702 patch to run manually to update the SCCM Server.

Thanks in advance for help.

Regards
