SnagIt - Add Text Box (with border) plus arrow
Hi,
I'm getting up to speed with using SnagIt for screen captures. I'm trying to add a text box with an arrow pointing to a component of the screenshot.
While I can type text into a whitespace area of the screenshot, it displays w/o a border. So, I need to figure out how to add the border. If SnagIt could do it automatically, like MS Word does for text boxes, that would be great. In addition, what's the best way to add a red arrow?

You need to look through the icons and select one with the tail. They are not all the same. Then you may have to modify it for your purposes. I did. That makes a new Quick Style you can use.
In addition, is there a way to change the shape/color/arrow direction so it looks like this

Ok, so now I have the shape and fill that I want. And I'm guessing the blue square with the white square inside it is the selected callout. But, what's the command sequence to insert? I tried clicking the screen area to no avail.

You are very welcome and I was happy to help. SnagIt is a very nice tool. I have (by now) hundreds of SnagIt pictures in here.

In addition, is there a way to change the shape/color/arrow direction so it looks like this. I ask b/c I need to be consistent with the style of previous screenshots created with a combination of Snipping Tool, Word and Paint.
