Access 64-bit hard drive from 32-bit system?

My hard drive crashed, it contained 64-bit version of Windows. It didn't really crash but it would freeze on startup, safe mode, and repair. I couldn't find my Windows 7 64-bit CD so I installed my Windows 7 32-bit on another hard drive. Now I'm up and running in Windows 32-bit...

It appears I can access my files from the previous hard drive (which contained Windows 64-bit) however can I run a repair from Windows 32-bit and try to repair the hard drive containing Windows 64-bit? Is this safe?

No. Cannot be done. 64-bit Windows must be repaired with 64-bit Windows DVD.

Go to the link above and input your product key to download the ISO file.

If your MS Windows is pre-installed by the device manufacturer, you need to obtain product recovery DVD to fix your problem.

if you still have the key for the CD  - you can use that with the downloaded iso

I'm doing a chkdsk repair for now. The question is about repairing the "HD" not the OS specifically.
And you were successful already?
It fixed my problem completely. I'm back on Windows 64-bit.
