Remove O365 license of a departed user
Hello,
After I removed the O365 license for a departed user, how many days I can reassign the license back and make the mailbox functional again before the mailbox is actually deleted?
Do I configure this setting in retention tags?
Please advise how.

run the following command to enable litigation hold on the mailbox to keep the mailbox under soft-deleted state after 30 days.
Set-Mailbox bsuneja@xyz.com -LitigationHoldEnabled $true
Set-Mailbox bsuneja@xyz.com -LitigationHoldEnabled $true

once you unlicensed, EXO Mailbox will be removed after 30 days. so you have to assign license within 30 days.
If you want to keep the mailbox in soft deleted state after 30 days you need to enable Litigation Hold on mailbox before unassign the license.
