Publisher docs prompting for credentials

Our internal sharepoint site prompts all users for a username and password when clicking on a link to open a publisher document. Any other document types open fine so it is not a trusted site issue nor is it saved passwords or anything like that.
This affects both Windows 7 and Windows 10 users using IE11. SharePoint 2013 Enterprise on premise.

Users are always running SharePoint under their own security context. As they are when launching client apps such as word/excel/acrobat etc
Maybe test opening the file(s) as mentioned as above. Not sure how your company installs software, but there may be some intended behavior happening as far as MS Publisher goes.

Good luck...

I've opened both publisher and a publisher document outside of SharePoint with no prompts if that's what you mean?
Strange problem... good luck
