BLACK THANOS
asked on
How do I free up disk space on my computer in order for ITunes to back it up?
Good afternoon experts,
my question on the surface seems rather innocuous, because simply deleting files on my hard disk is the answer, but that would be to easy.
I have plenty of free disk space on all of my drives, as seen below:
I am not sure how Apple looks at disk space, so I am hoping someone can enlighten me to what is actually happening.
thanks in advance,
Regis ( BLACKTHANOS)

I will try your process John. Ramin , thanks for the effort, however , it had no affect on clearing up the backup issue. As I stated , all my drives have plenty of space. The itunes media folder location has plenty of disk space. John, I cant try your solution yet because I dont want to re-boot just yet. I have too much stuff going on my pc right now, but I will try later tonight.

Please let us know. Fixing software does require a restart so when you are ready try the process. I have fixed iTunes several times this way.
Delete corrupted backup(s). Launch iTunes >> Preferences > Devices. Select the backup file and click the Delete Backup button.
Restart your PC.
