Memory card for entry level Vodaphone device
Say, I am not sure of the model number but this is an entry level, probably the cheapest, Voda phone cell phone on the market. I am trying to ascertain what the specs of the external memory chip that we would require, are. Also, how long have these been available ?
I am trying to ascertain if I have 1 used in an older device and in particular, the Blackberry model. Roughly, how many years ago were they in the Blackberry model?

It's a Vodaphone VF695 or V695 Volcano Black B and it is not a Samsung. Kindly confirm the specs.

Your smartphone should be Samsung J1 mini prime and it supports 256gb MicroSD card.
how long have these been available? I am pretty sure that your local telecom store should not have 256gb microSD card as they are a bit expensive.

It is likely that you already have a micrsoSD card for your Blackberry but if the size of the microSD is 1gb or 2gb, it is better you purchase a new microSD card of at least 32gb.
You will not buy 256gb one. Go to any local telecom store and look for the cheapest 32gb MicroSD card.
