Indexing Status not decreasing
Hello!
I have a user who is on Outlook 2013. She cannot search her inbox effectively because her Indexing Status appears to be indexing several thousand items, but the number being indexed doesn't decrease after waiting for it to do so. We have Exchange 2016 on the backend, and she is on Windows 7 pro 64bit. Is there any way to reset the indexing functionality so that it can index the mailbox? Attached is an example of the notification I am referring to but it is from my own box so it reads 0.

These are common problem with large mailboxes. You can switch user to online mode or wait for it to complete. If system is old and disk RPM is slower, move user to high end system with good disk RPM.

Does the indexing occur on the local PST folders as well or just the mailbox? Searching her PST folders in Outlook return results with no problem. I didn't clarify, this is just within the inbox.

All I did was go into Control Panel<Indexing Options then I selected Outlook <Advanced and then clicked Rebuild to rebuild the index. Now everything is fine.
