I had problems with Outlook 2010 this week from an update as well. It was KB3203467. Make sure that your window search service is started ..<br />
Also reset and rebuild Outlook Indexing, Once you are done with this, there is a high probability that you get rid of Outlook search Issue

Our help desk has received a lot of calls stating that searching in Outlook 2010 has stopped working properly. Ive tried rebuilding the index but it didnt solve the issue. I was told by others that a recent windows update caused this, does any one have more information?
