vmware ovf sequence question

Hello,

When we do ovf deployment,  it will start to ask question, etc.. and will do fill it up as we needed, once it's done it will start to copy the  VMDK file to ESX host, how does it work? Does it do SSH copy from source?

do you use vCenter Server ?

are you using vSphere Client ? (C# legacy)

are you using Web Client ?

I would like to know the sequence for both, for webclient once we give ovf file, it would read the info and select the vmdk and configure, from vcenter to ESX host, what kind of sequence is happening?  How exactly data copied to ESXhost ?  Is it SCP or OVFtool
I'm afraid neither.

vSphere Client opens a TCP Port 443 to vCenter Server, authenticates, and then when you upload an OVF, the VMDK is opened on the workstation, and then directly to the Host via 443 TCP is written.

Web Client uses a different method as the client integration plugin reads the data from your workstation, and uploads via 9443.
