vSphere 5.5 upgrade order/recommendations?
I'm looking to upgrade a small environment and wondering what the best steps would be.
The Environment:
• vSphere 5.5.0 (build 3024345)
• vCenter 5.5.0 (build 2183111)
• VMware ESXi 5.5.0 build-2456374 (4x ProLiant DL380p Gen8)
The vCenter is on a Windows 2008 Virtual Machine, and its SQL is installed locally. I want to keep all its settings so I don't break the environment, but move to the VSA instead so I have one less Windows VM I need to patch.
Should I do vCenter upgrade first? Is there a migration tool? I don't want to break anything. I'm not sure what "next best version" I should make the jump to.
