Office 365 - messages visible in OWA but not Outlook 2016 client

A client recently wanted me to convert his mailbox to a shared mailbox. I did this via the O365 control panel and all seemed to go fine with a confirmation message suggesting it was completeled successfully.

The mailbox has a lot of emails in it and there are sub folders of sub folders within it.

When I view the mailbox via the web I can see all the sub folders and emails that  I would expect. When I access the same mailbox from Outlook 2016, some of the sub folders and emails are missing. There was a lot of initial syncronisation to do but that now seems to be complete and the folders are still missing.

What could be causing this?

Thanks

This can be issue with Outlook profile or permission.

but when you say you are able to see all folders in OWA, so using same creds you will be able to see all folders in Outlook as well.

Try configuring shared mailbox as a separate mailbox/e-mail account rather adding it to additional mailbox and configure this account in Online mode then check what it shows to you.
Hello,

It sounds like the limitation of Outlook in term of number of items and folders :

- 100,000 items per folder.
- 500 folders in the mailbox.

If you try to manually search a missing item in Outlook, what is the result ?

Francois the items were visible in Outlook previously when it was a standard mailbox. They ahve a lot of folders but I dont think theyhave as many as the limits.

When I do a search for a recent email that is visible in OWA it come4s back with nothing in Outlook.
