Having Issues with Windows 10/Office 2016 issue: "Outlook cannot logon. Verify you are connected to the network...."

This is the full error message:
“Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service.”

Followed by other error messages. See attached PDF for screen captures.

The only solutions that we have found to work (temporarily) is to delete and recreate the user's Outlook profile. However, the issue returns about a week later.  We have also tried the registry edit for "ExcludeHttpsRootDOmain".

Hi,

What type of account do you have? Exchange, IMAP?

It is only one profile?

If you connect In a different Outlook version you can connect?

Regards
Valentina

ASKER

-This is an Exchange account.
-This has happened to at least 5 different users running Windows 10 and Office 2016
-We are not seeing Windows 7 and Office 2010 users.

"If you connect In a different Outlook version you can connect?"
-This issue just started happening about 3 weeks ago. We have deployed Windows 10 with Office 2016 laptops about 6-7 months ago.
Hi,

If you connect the user with conflict in a client machine Outlook 2010..it works? The same profile with different version.

Need to be sure if the issue is Outlook side or Exchange.

Regards
Valentina
Yes, I currently am using a Windows 7 and Office 2010 desktop but I also have a Windows 10/Office 2016 laptop.

Windows 7/Office 2010 works fine.

Windows 10/Office 2016 having issues with the above mentioned errors.
Hi,

I see

The users with conflicts have shared mailbox?

Regards
Valentina
No shared mailboxes, all individually assigned computers.
Hi,

I have already seen this error some months ago

These profiles are connected in different computers at the same time, mobile phones,..?

Are they using Skype, Lync with the same profile?

Regards
Valentina
No Skype or Lync, just Exchange on iPhones/Android.
Hi,

Check if you are running in compatibility mode:

- You need to go C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

- In Outlook.exe file>>  Properties >> Compatibility

Are any boxes checked in Compatibility? Uncheck. Apply and ok

You need to restart Outlook.

Regards
Valentina
I do not get the option for "Compatibility" when I right-click on Outlook.exe --> Properties.

I am running Windows 10. See attached.

Hi,

Check with the following command:

Outlook.exe /resetnavpane

It removes all customizations to the navigation pane.

Regards
Valentina
I've run that command already, it does not fix the errors.

Deleting/ recreating the Outlook profile will only work for about a week until the error comes back.

I've referred to these links for troubleshooting:

Hi,

Which Exchange version do you have?

Have you cheked if Outlook is updated to the last version?

Regards
Valentina
Exchange 2008, I am on Outlook 2016 with latest updates.

This appears to be an issue with "autodiscover".....

All Outlook machines are on the domain.

We are running Exchange Server 2010, Version 14.02.0347.000.

What is the correct way to configure Outlook 2016 autodiscover?

I am still having issues and my host (1 and 1) is saying they still have no idea on how to fix it. I see many people are getting the "just delete everything" excuse but that appears to not fix anything because it reappears. I have a Microsoft exchange account through them and my Outlook appears to be a 2016 version. I am using the same password to login into my 1 and 1 account as I am for my Microsoft password so I know it is the correct one but when I try to enter it into the credential box, it is not accepting it.
