Hello, after an uninstalling software my TouchSmart IQ524 (Vista 64 bit) no longer starts due to a failure of the BIOS. Are you there a way to Flash the BIOS via USB, under MSDOS or LINUX?
Thanks for any information on this subject

You need to use the BIOS update software supplied by the computer Manufacturer. My manufacturer supplies both application BIOS updates (for a machine that is running), and USB BIOS updates.

What did you uninstall?  I have not seen any uninstall damage BIOS. So you may have had a hardware failure.

I agree with that.  Uninstalling software does not affect the BIOS.

Updating a BIOS is something to do only when the system has an issue that is well-defined, known to exist in this particular system, and is specifically fixed by a BIOS update.  Otherwise, flashing a new BIOS is inviting un-recoverable disaster if any problem occurs during the flash.

What's the specific error message you're seeing?

Your TouchSmart needs to be able to start in order to flash the BIOS, you may need to fix the error before you are able to flash.

download sp43200.exe from
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/closure/hp-touchsmart-iq520-desktop-pc-series/3849079/model/3871945
extract using winrar and burn the sp43200.iso to a cdrom, boot from the CD and update your bios

could you share screenshots of the error messages you're getting?

Thank you very much for your promptness. The problem is not to put SP43200 on a CD and launch it. This procedure has been tried, but to the extent where the machine does not recognize the CD it does not work. I thought I'd try using a USB in DOS but there too the procedure is impossible because sp43200 is not recognized. This last procedure request to go through in BIN and CUT to be launched under DOS and I have not found the appropriate converter.
For the moment the machine was entrusted to a Pro who told me on Friday that the only option is to change the map and this one seems to be more available.
As soon as I get the machine I will show you the overall message provided at its launch.

Hello, I do not know if I expressed myself correctly. What I have read at the level of the screen has an auxiliary element at the BIOS level that blocks the functioning. Not having the machine at my disposal at this moment I don't give you the content of the message. I need wait to recover the one, which will be soon, because it seems that the pro to whom I entrusted him don't have a solution to provide me with.
This auxiliary part to the bios is installed by some software and it seems that it is this module which has problem. As I need to proceed by elimination I try to solve the problem of starting, externally, through the bios, before moving to hard.
As soon as I get the machine I'll put online the content of the message indicating the problem.

See you soon

Not enougth space in Runtime aera!!. SMBIOS data will not be available

Press F1 to resume"

Apparently there's a concern on the SMBIOS that is usually used by the BELAC software and a few others. J "uninstalled BELAC and some other software and since then I'm in trouble"

i never knew that to cause problems - but it's been a long time i used it
strangely, i could not find any bios version for that system : https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-touchsmart-iq520-desktop-pc-series/3849079/model/3871945

so if you want to repair it, i see 2 options :
1- open the system - and remove the bios battery - it can help - but not guaranteed
2- take this up with HP (payable)

Your CMOS storage is corrupted, SMBIOS can't then identify any of the devices including chipsets attached this prevents the Operating System from loading.

Try clearing the CMOS
This has an HP Pegatron Motherboard
Disconnect external power and open the case
On the motherboard locate the black circular buzzer
next to it are the jumper pins for password and CMOS reset
JumpersYou should see two blue pin jumpers, remove the CMOS jumper and replace it so it now connects the top and center pins
Reset CMOS - do not power up with this settingleave in place for 10-15 seconds then return it to its original position
Do the same with the password jumper
Close the case and restart
See if the "No space in Runtime Area" error persists

Hello I made the proposed operations but without success. I always receives the same message but I also have a response that this time told me a little more:
"The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant." Please contact your system vendor for year year updated BIOS.
Technical information:
***STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x0000000000000002,0xFFFFFA8001A98D50,0xFFFFF8800011AD50,0xFFFFFA800198603C)"

The bos has been flasche correctly by a USB. It took me to find the right trick to get there but it's done and on this side I don't see what can be added.
In the case of a technical failure there is more to find a replacement motherboard.

Well done with getting the BIOS flashed
Make sure that you've reset it to default settings
As you're getting the Vista BSOD you can probably recover Vista now with a system repair
