Dot Matrix print images?

We have a dot matrix printer but can't figure out how to get it to print an image. The reason we use dot matrix printer is because we have stencil paper that is on a tractor roll. We use the dot matrix printer to create our stencils. Anyone know how to get a dot matrix printer to print out an image?

The driver should handle that for you, though I'd be surprised if there were a modern operating system that had dot matrix printer drivers.

From what application are you printing?  If you put some clip art in a Word document and print that to your dot matrix, does the clip art print?

I tried word document image, pdf, jpeg, bmp nothing seems to work. The text will print but it just skips over the image.
The old dot matrix printers had a lot of functions that could be turned on and off via escape codes.

What model is your printer?

It is an 850xl OTC. It is pretty old. Might need to invest in a newer version.
Ascii Art comes to mind :)

That printer should be able to print graphics.

I'm searching now for an escape code that might change the mode.

pgm554 I think you are correct. When I bring up print properties and device settings it says Generic/text only device settings.

no problem I appreciate the help! I think we might just buy a dot matrix printer from the guy who sells us the stencil paper.
Epson or Okidata are pretty much the standards these days.
So you can't go wrong with either.
