FOUR (4) NESTED IF STATEMENTS

I have column headings that look like the following:
◄───── Months Ending ─────►
◄─────Quarters Ending──────►
◄──── MONTHS ENDING ────►
◄─────Quarters Ending──────►
Located in cells C6, C7, C8 and C9, respectively)
Based on an X being in B6, B7, B8 or B9
So the current formula, (omitting B9 and C9)
=IF(B6="X","◄───────── "&C6&" ─────────►",IF(B7="X","◄─────"&C7&"─────────►",IF(B8="X","◄─────"&C8&"─────────►","SEE SETUP")))
Given the limitation to 3 nested IF statements, how do if get the 4th option, an X in cell B9 into the equation?

Well Rob I am sure I read it somewhere and/or misinterpreted the statement. That being said the article you sent was very pragmatic about endless nesting of IF statements.
But, as usual, I learned more than just the solution. Everyday I thank God for having survived aortic cancer (few do) and living the second chance. I am also so very grateful to the everyone on EE. Post-Triple Chemo confusion is debilitating and you have fight for everything you get back. Expanding my knowledge and ability where Excel is concerned has where I use my mind everyday and in many ways it help facilitate overcoming the confusion. My roundabout way of saying, "Thanks for the help!"
I won't reiterate my comments above. Just a simple thanks guys!
Glad to be of assistance.

Maybe you're thinking of old school (pre 2007) Conditional Formatting where you could only specify 3 conditions.

Regards
Rob
