Dell RAID issues

I recently replaced a bad disk on a PERC 5 in a PE 840.

The system has been running very slow over the past couple of months and after I ran a chkdsk ,it took over an hour to run on a raid 5 4 X 250 GB disk array.

The company I bought the disks from sent me Dell branded Seagate SATA to replace the Dell WD RE 2's that went bad.
So it looks like I've got 2 WD and 2 Seagate drives(both Dell branded).
The performance seems to be sucking.
My gut feeling is there is a firmware issue with these drives and the controller.

The leds are on all the time on the disks even when it's not busy.

My question is would mixing different Dell OEM drives cause this issue?

Still not quite sure as to what issues may be ,but had some corruption here and there on the system.
Things like expired SSL certs still popping up in error logs and mailbox corruption on the Exchange box.
M$ helped me clean some of it up ,but it seems to come and go.
Since the last Exchange rollup ,things seem to be more stable.
