xenapp 6.5 servers do not keep farm data after farm store shuts down

hi experts.  testing redundancy in my 6.5 farms.   citrix documentation for xenapp 6.5 states "If the data store fails, each farm server can run from the data in its Local Host Cache indefinitely, provided it can contact the license server. However, you cannot make any modifications to the farm or use the AppCenter.".   I find that this is not the case.  If i shut down the server that holds the data store i can't bring up the farm in any other server and i cannot launch any farm applications.

any idea what i'm missing here, that my experience contradicts citrix documentation?

Hi Sekar.   Understood but i cannot even access the app center on the server that is still up.   maybe this is normal behavior?   but i have also had trouble accessing apps but maybe i need to review my settings on the web interface.
You can access the console . But u can't do any changes
if apps don't start without DataStore, you should recreate the LHC
"dsmaind 7recreatelhc"  i think.
but check your WI/Storefront if the Server you shut down is the only one you configure here.
Hi Dirk.  Can you explain further?:    "if apps don't start without DataStore, you should recreate the LHC
"dsmaind 7recreatelhc"

I just test again but first made sure both servers in the farm were in my farm settings and secure access settings in WI.  After i shut down the server with the datastore i logged into the site and no apps were available from either server, even though one was still up.
