Hi experts, I wish to read .txt on the client side, is this possible? any help please!

you cannot ready ANY type of file from the client side, that is a huge security breach. The best you can do is upload a file, then read it once uploaded.

Thank you for the info sirs, I am also trying to know the installed printers on the client-side where when the user wants to know the installed printers on his/her computers they will just click the button and display in an alert the installed printers. The same, I'm trying to know the hard disk serial number or s/n where when the clients wants to know the s/n they will just click the button. Are these things are the same (huge security breach)? Thank you!
yes, these would be security issues, as your application would need access to the clients registry to get this info. I know I certainly wouldnt visit a website where they could access my registry....
