PC disconnecting... regularly in several LANs

Hello Experts,
This is a small LAN with three computers.
Two HP all in one (core i3)
and one laptop hp celeron
They all share files.

the thing is we get this " Error reading " constantly.
I close apps and restart the app and all is ok again

all pcs are set never sleep... is it possible there are other parameters ?
Also is it possible the modem is disconnecting.?

How can I test the LAN in order to see why is it disconnecting ?

Regards,

You should test the cables first. Can you ping from PC to PC? Do you see any corruption in the ping's results?

Which app were you talking about?

ASKER

Spiderlink,
Those are seveval small open Access applications developed by a local vendor
we are remote
I understand those apps share a small database in one of the stations...
When they leave the app on and minimized at night the next morning has this message
also when they leave pc idle for more than 30 min

These apps have to work until we develop new apps with mysql and visual c#
in several months.... but then I need to try to keep them working until then..
The local vendor who developed those is not any more available.

That is why i am thinking the net gets disconnected somehow...
just checed all power parameters are never going to sleep...
Are there any other parameters ?
Thank you

Do you have any Firewall, Antivirus inside those PCs?
yes I can ping all pcs, no corruption,
its only if you leave idle a station it disconects... some how..
but i move the mouse ..... wait few seconds and come back

is it possible a virus ?
I was thinking its the modem maybe? or network hub ?
so that is why it would be nice if there is a software that can monitor the lan
would be nice ...
