Cisco Catalyst Switch Inter-VLAN Routing

Hello Everyone,

I have a single Cisco Catalyst cat4500e-LANBASEK9-M) switch running iOS Version 15.1(2)SG6. We have two VLANs in place. VLAN10 (data)=172.16.1.0/24 and VLAN20 (SAN)=192.168.58.0/24. I am currently able to ping all resources on VLAN20 from the switch. However, I'm unable to ping  resources on VLAN20 from resources on VLAN10 (data)=172.16.1.0/24. The switch is not connected to any other switches. this switch is connected to a Cisco ASA5506 on GE0/1 (172.16.1.1/24). Could someone please help me figure out what I am missing?

Thanks.

Issue ip routing command.
Static route ip route 192.168.58.0 255.255.255.0 10.86.240.9 is not needed it points to directly connected network. The same is with ip helper address under SVI for VLAN10. IP address helper is only needed if DHCP server is not in the same network (VLAN) with hosts.

Hello,

Predrag is correct, the static route is not needed. Also, the switch must be enabled for ip routing to allow inter VLAN routing. To do that enter the following command from global configuration mode - ip routing. Please let me know if that works. Also, can you please post the output of show ip route if you are still not able to ping between both vlans?

Thank You
