How to strip out attachments from Gmail emails

Is there a way to strip out attachments en mass from sent items in Gmail or inbox mail, for the purpose of either security or mail size reduction whilst retaining the email itself.  I not referring to Outlook usage etc, only the gmail service online.

For a personal Gmail account, no.  If you have a corporate G Suite account, you can remove attachments using the Google Admin tool.  Google Admin Link

Follow these steps:
  • Log on to the Google Admin page by clicking on the gear icon on your corporate G Suite account and selecting Manage this domain
  • Select Apps
  • Select G Suite
  • Select Gmail
  • Select Advanced Settings
  • Scroll down to Attachment compliance and select CONFIGURE
  • Fill out the form and be sure to select the checkbox for Remove attachments for this message
