On-Premise Exchange/Office 365 sync'd Distribution Group Deletion

We have an on-premise Exchange that sync's with Office 365 which was want to keep this way.

A distribution group that was created and managed on the on-premise Exchange server was deleted. It's been a couple of days and its still showing on Office 365. I try to remove it from Office 365 but it doesn't allow me to since its being synchronized from the on-premise exchange.

1. I checked the on-premise exchange and the group gone.
2. I checked the sync logs, no issues and the sync runs every 30 minutes.
3. I created a test group on the on-premise exchange, waited till it sync'd and deleted off the on-premise exchange.
3a. After everything sync'd, the group was removed from Office 365.
4. I recreated the distribution group with the same name/data/email as the group that is still showing on Office 365.
4a. After everything sync'd, a new group was created with the same name on Office 365 with a different email address.
4b. I deleted the group off the on-premise, waiting till everything sync'd and the duplicate group, with the different email address, was removed from Office 365 but the other one still remains.

It seems that something must have happened during the sync, between our on-premise exchange and Office 365, when I originally deleted the group... I have been unable to find a way to successfully delete the group from Office 365.

Hi Vasil, I ran the script in Powershell and verified it removed the distribution group(s) in question. Unfortunately, they returned a bit later. I checked my on-premise exchange and nothing is showing there.

Vasil Michev lead me in the right direction but the issue lied with the second Azure AD Sync which was undocumented. With the help of Microsoft Support, we located the second installation, reconfigured it, resolved the conflicts and the deleted groups no longer returning.
