Server 2012R2 Standard Network Drives
Hi Guys,
how do i determine where a network drive is pointing? when connected onto the server itself the mapped network drives show with the path name and drive letter but i cant see where the drive actually lives.
when i go to the route of the path which is the server IP: \\10.20.92.53 i can see the folders here as well but they show in size as 0 bytes. i wanted to create another folder in this location but dont have the option when i right click anywhere. i can right click the existing folders.
this is because the folder is a share i believe.
can some please help, i just want to create another folder at the same location/level

Hi,
your picture show all folder shares of the server, if you like to create a new shared folder you need to log onto the server and create it from the server either by using RDP or what ever vm console you are using.
If you know the admin share disk letter, You could use UNC \\ipoftheserver\diskletter $ then create the folder, share it and giv correct access.

I cant see how i would create another share underneath. I have admin rights to the server itself. i have attached a screen shot.
