Date format should help resolve this question

I have a query that I built in Query. If I add a Date Criteria and send the result to Excel I can no longer edit the query until I go into the SQL code and delete the line for the Date. Once I do that, I can edit all other Criteria. I've checked the date formatting on my machine and the server and all seems ok.<br />

I will add that the server is an Apple, and the workstation is a PC.
