When I try to remove this HDD from my VDP VM (no matter if I chose “remove from virtual machine” or “remove from virtual machine and delete files from disk”) I get the error:

Cannot remove virtual disk from the virtual machine because it or one of its parent disks is part of a snapshot of the virtual machine. But this even doesn`t exist anymore in Datastore. I can understand a security mechanism that will not let you delete HDDs with snapshots. But this is too much. How can I delete this HDD in my VDP VM as it doesn`t exist anymore in my Datastore?

Make sure you create a copy of the VMX file before you make any changes ?
