I use word 2010 and 2016. I'd like to use a sharepoint based document template directory in the "workgroup templates" file location (see screenshot), https://sharepoint.mydom.local/sites/infonet/main/vorlagen.
Word does not allow that ("You cannot use an internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network"). If I map a network drive to that location (x: = https://sharepoint.mydom.local/sites/infonet/main/vorlagen), it still does not work with x:.
BUT: If I subst this network drive x: for a local drive using
That workaround is not very nice. Is there someone here who has a better solution?
Please note, that we'd like to keep the templates in sharepoint and not return them to a network drive.
