Exchange 2010 SP3 - mailbox server role is not installed on this computer
Hi all,
I'm attempting to update what is an SBS 2011 server's Exchange version 2010 to SP3, so that the organization can install a 2016 Exchange server. The current version of the Exchange is 14.01.0438.000.
When attempting to install I get the following error.
Whats more odd; is about 50% of the time, I also get same error relating to the hub transport role.
And even the log file thinks Exchange role is installed, line 31.
I've checked the registry, and the HKLM:Software\Microsoft\Ex
Anyone got any bright ideas on how to resolve this?

Are you using any Monitoring tool?
Disabled the Health Service and try it

Also make sure you have close all the open window on the server and try it. you may consider deleting the watermark key and re-run the setup

Try disabling any third party service you have and run the setup if you have any monitoring agent installed disable that too

@PRADIIP SINGH, There is a 3rd party monitoring installed and it is disabled.
Give me the setup log
Try uninstalling that Agent reboot the server then run the setup also share me the setup log

looking deeper in to the logs I see these two errors during the pre-req interrogation similar corresponding time stamps to the Exchange setup log.

The DotNet updates - I get "Does not apply to your system" message when trying to install.
Even with the links I cant locate the RMS update anywhere.
The server is fully updated with Windows updates.
I'm beginning to think that the server has a deeper corruption. I shall dig deeper.

Ultimately the system was corrupt and it had to be bypassed. None of the solutions suggested this.
