Virtual Printer for PDF editing/creation
Hi,
We are looking for a robust Virtual PDF printer, with the following features:
1. Create PDF files
2. Combine documents: Say for example we have separate documents that need saving as one PDF, the printer will act as a repository for the printed files, after which we can save to PDF. This is vital, as a lot of freebie pdf printers will print each document to a separate PDF file. Whilst we are aware that there is software to combine PDF files, we want to avoid this step.
Editing features are a plus but non essential:
1. Delete unwanted pages
2. Add watermarks
3. Print on electronic letterheads
4. remove graphics
We are specifically looking for this to be installed on a Remote Desktop server so that it is available for all users. Google has thrown up a lot of very expensive options. Does anyone have anything reasonable they can recommend?
Thanks!

Cute PDF will not allow you to combine separate PDF files into 1.
We use Nitro and can say that it is a very powerful PDF writer, with many advanced features.

Thanks guys. As you said Bob, CutePDF doesnt meet our requirements - we've already tried it.
I've just downloaded and installed Ntro Pro 11 Trial. It doesn't seem to allow me to print to a 'repository' after which I can save as one PDF; it seems I have to use the 'combine' feature within the program.
I'm looking for a program that will allow me to print to it and hold those prints for me to save, edit, tweak etc. Can Nitro do this?

I am not sure if any of the applications can do this. You must edit, save the results and go back. Maybe I am not understanding you well. Even Acrobat won't do this as you stated the requirement.

There is a program called Fineprint that will do this (see http://fineprint.com/fp), however its rather expensive, and requires a separate licence for each RDP user.
I use a lovely little program called PDFTK-Builder to merge PDFs. It will also split large PDFs into individual pages, rotate selected pages (great after scanning pages of mixed orientation) and add page numbers.
As there are no command line options, it's not possible to automate it - which is why I guess it won't suit your requirements. However, there is a command line version of it, called PDFTK but I cannot recommend that as have never used it.

I would review these and see if any fit your needs.
I use Adobe Acrobat DC for my needs.
