Failure to import OVF images to ESXi host due to missing port groups.

I have a build machine which produces OVF images for virtual machines for deployment, the OVF images generated are assigned certain port groups based on their type against various vSwitches i.e.

OVF_IMAGE_1
===========
[vSwitch0]My_Portgroup_1
[vSwitch0]My_Portgroup_2
[vSwitch1]My_Portgroup_3
[vSwitch2]My_Portgroup_4

The OVFs are built successfully and can be exported to OVF no problem. However when I import these to our target environment using OVF tool I am getting errors. Specifically the import is complaining that the expected network adapters don't exist. I have confirmed that the network adapters do exist on the target host, but it seems like any port groups that exist on the host on vSwitches > 0 arnt being recognised i.e. My_Portgroup_3/4 and are failing validation checks?

Is this a known problem? Is there a known fix/work around?

The error message I am getting is...

Error: no network mapping specified. Ovf networks: xx1 xx2 xx3 Target networks: xx1 xx3

Where xx# represents a port group... xx2 is missing from the target networks but they do exist under vswitch 1/2?
This is an export from an ESXi server ?

or these are custom built OVFs ?
This is a stupid mistake on my part one of the ports I was trying to attach was a kernel port! Was looking at too many port groups and couldn't see the wood for the trees! Your suggesting to try recreating the port groups pointed me in the right direction so points are yours.
Glad to help, and you are fixed.

As for points, I have enough, it's not as if there are $ Dollar Bills!
