RemoteApp Application not loading.
Ok so I have a new Server 2016 Remote Desktop Setup with a Broker / Gateway / Rdserver and then 2 Session Hosts.
I've created a collection and then published remoteapps.
When I login to RdWeb and launch any RemoteApp (Including Calc) I get the box that says 'starting...' then after a few seconds it disappears and then the app never loads.
Anyone got any ideas?

What happens if you connect to RDP server manualy, Windows+R, mstsc, enter server name and gateway name?
ASKER
Gateway works perfectly fine whether using MSTC or connect to a computer through RDWeb
ASKER
I did have to update the Gateway Address for Pages under RDWeb in the IIS application config for connect to a computer to work through RDWeb.
After initial connection to RemoteApp, is mstsc listed as a running process?
Did you logoff user session from server?
Did you logoff user session from server?
ASKER
No it's not listed as a running process. I've tried logging the user session off, it's worth noting that this is happening for all users across 2 session hosts.
Any errors in Event Viewer on client or server side?
ASKER
Nothing Client side at all.
Server side nothing in the system or App logs.
Under Session Broker Logs I get messages to say the connection broker has successfully processed the request.
There are no errors relating to the connection.

Check Security log on server. Was user succesfully authenticated?
ASKER
User was successfully authenticated, nothing unusual in the logs. We are using a self signed certificate, not sure if this could be causing issues, I've got the cert installed on my client machine and don't get certificate warnings on rdweb
There was an issue on previous versions of Windows, that Remote App lost focus after initial connection, but in this case you would see open users sessions on server.
Which version (bulid number) of OS is running on clients and on servers? Are computers fully patched?

I think I've found something that's almost certainly the cause, our session host servers are not allowing more than 1 session, I can't see any obvious reason for this, any ideas?
ASKER
We also currently have no TS CAls, but are well within the grace period, so this shouldn't be affecting it?
Did you install RD Licensing server? You need to install RD licensing server to take benefit of grace period.
