I want to populate a new worksheet with data if a condition is met.

If I have a spreadsheet of data whereby column A gives me the name of someone, and column E gives me the answer 'yes' to liking ice cream; can I populate a new worksheet with the name provided in column A, provided the condition is met that Column E is 'yes'?

Hi Alisha,

Yes its possible through VBA.

It would be easier if you provide sample data.

Hi Shum,

I'm very limited on excel and not familiar with VBA. Is there a way to do this through the standard excel formulas?

Thanks,
Alisha
Alisha,

You can extract details from one sheet to another sheet, but you cannot create sheet with formula, for that you will need VBA.

Even you are not familiar with VBA, I can provided you with button.

Or you can just use the Standard AutoFilter function.

Put the cursor in column E and goto the Data tab. Select the big filter button. The header of column E will now have a dropdown box next to it. use the dropdown to show the filter options. There are various dynamic options and then a list of values from the column. Check or Uncheck as required and then click OK, the resulting list will  now show only those that were checked.

Now select from A1 to the end of the data in column E and press Ctrl + C (Copy) and goto the other sheet and press Ctrl + V (Paste). Only the visible rows will have been copied and thus pasted into the second sheet.

Thanks
