what is the difference scsi and ide and what is scsi (0.0)...etc

On another note on a ESXi server you can only build a new VM with an SCSI controller where as in Vmware workstation you can build a VM with an IDE controller.
If you need only IDE HDD,

While creating a new VM, it won't show you the option to select IDE by default. However you can  EDIT the VM, just before finishing the VM creation window and delete the SCSI HDD and add a new HDD which will give you an option to either select SCSI or IDE.
