What PC software to use to view SQL .sdf tables?

Our customers use a handheld scanner using the Windows CE app, and their app has a SQL .sdf file with all their tables.  I assume this is a special version of SQL for the compact environment--although I don't know that for sure.  If I want to look at data in a table on the scanner, I can use a built-in SQL query program on the scanner.

But I would like to copy the .sdf file to my Windows PC and be able to view that table data.  What program can I download or purchase that can access this type of file?

LINQPad looks very promising, but once I browse for the .sdf and click on Test, it says "Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider.  It may not be installed."  And if I go ahead and click OK, it shows it in the upper left corner under Add connection, but it has a red x to the left, and if you hover over it, that same error displays.

Earlier I was getting an error about how this .sdf was created in an older version, and needed to upgraded--or something like that--but now I no longer seeing that error.

Any ideas?

Install an updated Microsoft .Net framework.
