Quick question the faulty hdd is still on the server. Tomorrow will arrive the new one but I will have to give the faulty one to the courier. <br />
Could I take out it from the bay while server is running? And pack the hdd into the box.

If the disks are framed, this should be possible. It's called hot-swap.<br />
<br />
CAVEAT: there are (older) systems, which don't allow this. Thus read the manual.<br />
<br />
Before packing the disk, let it cool down.

Hi 

One of the new server HDD failed today. 

I have 6 physical disks installed on raid 10. 

Question of is the faulty tolerance that server will still be able operate?  as I have to wait few days  for the new HDD  to arrive 


Server HDD failure

RAID is data storage technology that allows multiple drives to be used together as a single virtual drive for reasons such as fault tolerance, reliability and performance. 

There are several different levels of RAID that determine how the data is stored and the level of redundancy achieved across the drives.
