Cloud Storage without replication.

File storage in the cloud for Mac, PC, iPhone

I want the cloud storage location to act as a network file share, not a  file distribution center where copies everything to every device you have.  With the small size of SSD drives that is proven to be impractical.

How do you store items in the cloud and not have them synchronize everywhere.

I am testing out Cloud Mounter and Commander 1 Pro on the MAC

But how do you access the folders that you have set up to not sync. I don't think u even see them.

It is my understanding that you have to go to the web interface?
Not quite. It depends on what device . On a mobile phone/iPad/tablet the app for Dropbox or SugarSync shows ALL files and folders and a simple click to decide if you want to copy the file to the device.  On a desktop you do have to use the website.  If you want Selective Sync then you'll need to do some "selection" ;-)
I use CloudBerry Drive. It links any bucket (in case of S3) as a local drive and do not make local "cache" for files like OneDrive does. The Drive supports many cloud vendors (Azure, Google, openstack and others), but one point - it's for Windows
I thought that Sugar Sync might be a solution but the features are expensive.

Steve: I would like to have my cloud storage solution act like a file server. I understand that you can do that. how do you handle it. Can you mount Sugar Sync as a drive or do you go through a desktop app.
Michelle Upshaw: only business account can be mount to external drives for now
 Steve: how much per mo
 Michelle Upshaw: $55 a month
Steve: ouch, for how much storage
Michelle Upshaw: comes with 3 user and 1TB

Dropbox business has a solution in Beta as part of their business offering called Smart Sync.

Still looking for other solutions. Will repost in a couple of months to see what has changed.
Thanks for your help.

Hard to believe that no one offers a basic file share housed on the web.
