Is the Google Search Console necessary?
If I just build a web page and publish it won't the Google bot see it and come index it? Is there any need to set up a Google Search Console account?

Thanks,
I ask because I've created a "stupid simple" website buider that lets non-technical people create and publish simple websites. But I don't believe many of the people who use the site builder will want to, or be able to, set up a Google Search Console and navigate all the options. So will they get indexed ok if they just upload some images, drag them onto the page, enter some text, and hit Publish. (I could probably get them to add image alts and use H1 and H2 for headings, but not much more.)
Do you happen to know how people like Wix and Weebly handle Search Console?
Thanks for your help.

Is there still a need to setup a Search Console account? Yes.
Search Console gives you a variety of different insights. It will show you if there are crawling errors, index issues, blocked resources, etc., There are a lot of reasons why you should setup Search Console. Getting your site crawled is not the primary purpose of the tool.
