I have about 80 desktop users. Each has an APC SmartUPS. &nbsp;We've never bothered connecting them via USB to the computers because we didn't want to contend with the PowerChute management software. &nbsp;But this is no good. As it is, the way I usually find out that a battery is no good is when we have a power outage and someone's UPS fails. I need to get a better system than that :-)<br />

Has anyone found a centralized UPS management solution? APC has a business edition of PowerChute, but it's limited to just 25 devices. What's up with that? I need a that could monitor and manage all of our UPS devices.<br />

Someone should build a Raspberry Pi solution for this that connects to the UPS via USB and the network via WiFi.

Managing desktop UPS's

Software is any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations. Computer software consists of programs, libraries and related non-executable data (such as documentation). Computer software is non-tangible, contrasted with computer hardware, which is the physical component of computers. Software written in a machine language is known as "machine code". However, in practice, software is usually written in high-level programming languages than machine language. Software

A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for use at a single location due to its size and power requirements, usually by one person. The most common configuration has a case that houses the power supply, motherboard, disk storage (usually one or more hard disk drives and optical disc drives); a keyboard and mouse for input; and computer monitor and printer for output. The case may be oriented horizontally and placed atop a desk or vertically and placed underneath or beside a desk.
