iPhone 5 completely bricked... fix or install linux help?
So my phone stopped working the other day, it just kept booting up to the apple logo and then rebooting. now I have it in recovery mode (itunes logo appears) and it won't do anything with itunes. I keep getting random errors (originally it was 2001, but the more I mess with it, it get 21, 4015, 2025, really random errors) I feel that this has to do with me being a beta tester and it derped since my phone is the last supported one. So I have a question: since it is completely gone: is there anyway, in other expertise, to downgrade it to an iOS 9 and redo it from there? OR I have alway fantasized putting linux on an iPhone. I've looked up youtube tutorials, and it's all VMWare, or Teamviewer, or VNC. I want to completely wipe it and put a Linux Flavour on it. what ya'll think?

I already have, I appreciate the help. I just don't understand why it is considered bricked when it can go into DFU mode. I had one last resort, but I couldn't get it to work, Purple Recover and all semi-close alternatives. They "quit unexpectedly" says the error when I launch them on my mac. Could that be cause I'm running Yosemite?
