No config t option...??

Hi,

I have a Cisco Air-Lap1042N-E-K90 access point but when I try to do a factory reset of this AP so I can configure it there is no option for conf t

I have followed the reset procedure and unplugged and pressed and held the mode button and the AP goes through it's startup until the LED goes to solid red,  At this point I release the mode button, The LED initially blinks green, then goes to blinking red and then continues onto blinking amber and then seems to stick in this loop after this stage I can ping the ip assigned when I connect an Ethernet cable but I still can't even login on my browser or conf t into it at CLI level either.

Is there something I'm missing here as I'm not fully conversant in cisco.?

Any help would be grateful
thanks

Can you try connecting a console cable to the AP?  You should see a login prompt and will be able to login from there.

If you are still able to ping to the assigned IP address, it looks like it may not be factory reset yet.

Hi,

I can login with the console cable and use Cisco / Cisco for the username and password but I still don't have an option for conf t and the i.p. Address is 192.168.3.46 and my router gateway is 192.168.3.1 so i suspect it's getting this address from my routers dhcp.
After you login using Cisco / Cisco, what does the prompt looks like?  "ap:" or "ap>" or "ap#"  (is it one of these?)
Hi,

when I logon using Cisco /Cisco it's none of those but if I hold the button in when booting I get the "ap:" prompt.
is there an option to do a factory reset from here?
Follow the reset procedure from the below.  Look for "Resetting to the Default Configuration" and then "Using the CLI"
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/12-4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/ios1243gjaconfigguide/s43trb.html#wp1058433
Hi,

Firstly apoligies for the delayed response as I've been on holiday for a week.
I have followed this option to the letter in CLI but my dir flash listing doesn't have a config.txt file, I have a configs with no extension name and I renamed that to configs old successfully and but I get no option for a reload command.

See below my dir flash:

ap: dir flash:

Does anyone have anything else to resolve this I'm still no further forward?

Thanks
