Disaster Recovery and domain trust relationships
Hello everyone,
To give some background, we have a production server and a development server. Both are backed up with image-level backups (as well as file-level). The decision was made to remove the current development server and restore production as a new development. This was done using the production backup image.
The image was restored to a separate non-domain subnet, where the hostname was changed and moved to a workgroup, along with a service change (enabled/disabled) and a few application changes to stop mailflow. The VM was then migrated to the domain subnet. When that happened, the production server lost the domain trust.
What am I doing that would cause the server to lose domain trust? Is there a better way to do what I am trying to do?
