Transplant a Dell CPU
I inherited a Dell Optiplex with an i7-2600 processor. Motherboard and power supply are lacking so I can't really upgrade it much. Could I get a new motherboard, PSU, etc and simply transplant the CPU? Will there any problems with Dell propriety stuff?

Comments show that CPU transplant is possible and note that Optiplex boxes are not necessarily standard for other people's motherboards.
